The Heart of Iowa Chorus was chartered in July 1966 in Marshalltown, Iowa.  Since chartered, the chorus has been part of Region 7, 20 and currently is a member of Region 5, the Midwest Gateway Region.   There are several members of the chorus who have been in Sweet Adelines more than 15 years, and several more who have recently joined.  In 1983 while being a member of Region 20, the Heart of Iowa came away with First Place.  This entitled the chorus to go to the International Convention and Competition, which was in Las Vegas, NV.  Since then we have been through many changes, but our love for song and harmony still holds strong, as does our desire to improve our chorus.
